Assisted Living
What is the difference between an assisted living community and a nursing home?
Assisted living, licensed through the Department of Social Services, is housing for the elderly and persons unable to live independently that will provide mid-level custodial care with ADLs, medication support, lifestyle activities, transportation, and meals. A nursing home is a licensed facility that holds transfer agreements with hospitals for those who require long-term care or short-term rehabilitation services. They provide a higher level of constant care not provided by assisted living, including a staff of nurses and physicians.
Contracts
Do you require a long-term contract?
We do not require a long-term contract. Our rent leases are on a month-to-month basis. Our Resident Agreement reflects your specific needs and costs and provides for cancellation with a written 30-day notice.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Medicare and Medicaid is not a funding source for general expenses for assisted living or memory care. However, we do accept private funds, long-term care insurance, and VA benefits.
Is there an upfront fee?

Services
What type of care services are available in your community?
Patriots Landing offers independent living, assisted living and memory care. Our services are designed to let residents live an independent life, while enjoying the option of having assistance if needed. Every resident is assigned a caregiver who is comprehensively trained to provide hands-on help with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and toileting.
How does your community determine what type of services your residents need?
A comprehensive assessment is completed prior to move-in, after 30 days of moving in, and upon a change of condition. Involvement from the resident, their family, and their physician will assist in the development of an individualized Service Care Plan. The plan will identify areas in which the resident requires or has requested assistance for how those services are to be delivered.
Does your community have staff to care for people with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory loss?
Yes. We have a dedicated Memory Care Unit that accommodates people who have Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms or memory loss. The Memory Care Unit is fully staffed 24 hours a day.
Does your community accept hospice residents?
Yes, we accept hospice residents. For more information on hospice, please speak with our marketing department.
Living Arrangements
Does your community have different floor plans available?
We have a variety of floor plans to meet the needs and preferences of our residents. Our community includes studios and one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Availability varies, so please check with our marketing department for more information.
Is your community wheelchair accessible?
Definitely! We accommodate wheelchairs and walkers for those in need. Our community has been built to make it easier for residents to get around safely.
Are couples with different care needs able to live in the same apartment?
Yes. An assessment is completed prior to move-in to determine whether assisted living or dementia care would be suitable to meet the needs of new residents. This assessment allows us to determine if it is appropriate for couples with different care needs to remain together.
Can my loved ones have overnight guests?
Yes. Ask our Community Relations Director for more details.
Do you offer cable TV and Wi-Fi?
Yes, we offer basic cable in each room and free Wi-Fi throughout the common areas of our community.
